The ski resort

Remarkable moments on the pistes of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

Looking for an unforgettable skiing holiday in one of the most snowsure resorts in the Alps? Then look no further! Here at the end of the Ötztal Valley, the resort of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl offers fabulous conditions from mid-November until early May.

With pistes between 1,800 and 3,080 metres above sea level and a network of state-of-the-art lifts and cable cars, Obergurgl-Hochgurgl offers visitors an outstanding skiing experience at affordable prices. There are plenty of highlights for everyone, from easy slopes for beginners and those returning to the sport after a while away to intermediate pistes perfect for cruising and challenging black runs for advanced and expert skiers. Snowboarders and freestyle skiers will also find plenty to kep them busy both on and off the pistes, including a snowpark, funslopes and a funcross course.

Last but certainly not least, there are plenty of huts and restaurants throughout the resort serving hearty food and offering wonderful views of the surrounding landscape.

"The state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern Tyrolean architecture visible from the ski lifts as well as hearty local food in the region's many huts make skiing and snowboarding in Obergurgl and the whole of the Ötztal Valley a great experience."

Spacious, sunny and snowsure

While in some resorts the ski lifts top out at around 1,800 metres above sea level, here in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl they start at that altitude and stretch all the way up to 3,080 metres above sea level. It is this altitude at the end of the Ötztal Valley, combined with state-of-the-art snowmaking facilities, which means the resort is able to offer one of the longest seasons of any non-glacier resort in Tyrol: from the middle of November all the way through until early May.

The wide range of different slopes in the resort cater for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, from beginners and children all the way through to racers and freestylers. The Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl in the heart of the resort is the perfect base camp for an unforgettable skiing holiday in the Austrian Alps.
