The renovation work carried out at the E&G has not only made our hotel more attractive but also more energy efficient.
By insulating the outer walls and switching to district heating provided by an eco-friendly power plant we save around 140 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. Sounds like a lot? It sure is!

Here at the Edelweiss & Gurgl we offer a wide range of delicious vegan and vegetarian options. This season we will have a different daily "ski fit" vegan menu each day. We also have a long and proud tradition of vegetarian cooking.
Climate protection is an issue which is taken seriously at the ski resort of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Pistes without a sufficient covering of snow are closed in order to prevent skiers damaging the ground (though here at 2,000 metres above sea level we normally have more than enough of the white stuff). Skiers and snowboarders are banned from the resort's forests in order to protect the local flora and fauna.
The mountains around Obergurgl-Hochgurgl form part of the Ötztal Nature Park, home to many rare species in need of protection.
