There is no better way to start a ski day than waking up in the morning and looking out at the freshly groomed slopes with no skiers anywhere to be seen. After a healthy and hearty breakfast in our hotel it is time to clip in and head out onto the pistes. The ski-in, ski-out location of our hotel means no wasted time in the morning waiting for the ski bus or queueing for the lifts.
If the weather gods aren't smiling on Obergurgl, why not treat yourself to a morning off and relax in our Glacier Spa? This spacious wellness temple overlooks the ski slopes as well as the centre of the village. A session in the sauna and a few lengths of our indoor pool are the ideal way to get your body up and running for an action-packed afternoon on the ski slopes.

Snowsure slopes
Something for everyone in one of Tyrol's most snowsure resorts
At the end of the Ötztal Valley, almost 2,000 metres above sea level, the winters are long and snowy. Our hotel is surrounded by 21 mountains above 3,000m stretching high into the sky. It is this combination of alpine altitude and state-of-the-art snowmaking that makes the resort of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl one of the most snowsure in the Alps.
Pistes for all abilities
The season begins in mid-November, when other resorts are still servicing their lifts, and continues through until early May. For years now, Obergurgl-Hochgurgl has been the only non-glacier resort in Tyrol to open so early.

Environmentally friendly
Sustainable snowmaking
Obergurgl-Hochgurgl uses the latest technology to produce artificial snow in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Five weather stations in the resort keep a close eye on conditions. As soon as the air is cold and damp enough, the snow cannons begin to produce snow. The electricity needed comes from sustainable sources, while the water is drawn from five reservoirs.
