A high-altitude tour is a difficult undertaking. Mountaineers venturing to higher altitudes must be confident on snow-fields or scree. Stamina, sure footedness and techniques are also required. Those who fulfil the requirements will be rewarded with unique views of the Ötztal mountains.
Well known tours take you to the Zirmkogl, Hochfirst or Hinteren Spiegelkogl.

High up for families
Discover your hiking happiness in Gurgl
Off to the pine forest – some of the most used hiking routes in the area lead past this fairy-tale-like place. The forest enchants with trees of up to 300 year old that line the trail. Visitors that are interested will learn many interesting facts about the Swiss stone pine trees, forest inhabitants (such as the Eurasian pine jay), the fauna and anecdotes about local people. The numerous playgrounds are ideal for children: for example at the Hohe Mut, where children are rewarded with breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers while playing. Another playground awaits younger hikers at the Top Mountain Crosspoint.
